Happy Humpday! The streets of Hot ‘Lanta are currently flooding with drunken fans as they celebrate the Braves first World Series title in 26 years after shutting out the Astros in Game 6. Outside of the historic The Fall Classic, we had some intense Champions League games that will also be on today. The NHL and NBA continue to entertain us. Then the College Football Playoff committee released their first rankings of the season and there were some shockers in the top 4.

The first edition of this season’s CFB rankings were released with #1 going to Georgia, #2 Alabama, #3 Michigan State and #4 Oregon in the playoff spot – Cincinnati, who was #2 in the AP Poll, and Oklahoma, #4 in the AP Poll, were big surprises not being in the top 4 of the CFP poll showing the importance of strength of schedule

    Champions League – Top Matches

Final: Manchester United 2 (7 PTS), Atalanta 2 (5 PTS)

Following a tumultuous start to the Premier League season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United needed a result in Bergamo, Italy against Serie A side Atalanta
United trailed nearly the entire game in a back and forth effort, but it was ultimately Christiano Ronaldo (45′, 90′ + 5) and his late game heroics to save the day and scrap a point for Man U – CR7 is really saving Ole’s job as manager
    Final: Lille 2 (5 PTS), Sevilla 1 (3 PTS)

Last year’s French Ligue 1 champions were the underdogs against Spanish side Sevilla, but that didn’t stop Canadian striker Johnathan David (43′ PK) from having his usual impact of scoring crucial goals
Lille now sits tied with German side Wolfsburg in Group G

    NBA – Top Game

    Final: Milwaukee Bucks (4-4) 117, Detroit Pistons (1-6) 89

Nothing new here, just Giannis Antetokounmpo (28 PTS, 9 AST, 8 REB) and the Bucks dominating their neighboring division rivals, as they shot 45% from 3 PT range in this rout – defending champs are only .500

    NHL – Top Game

Final: Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-1, 11 PTS) 4, Vegas Golden Knights (4-5, 8 PTS) 0

Playing a battered Knights team ravished by multiple injuries, the Maple Leaf stars showed up with the big three of Auston Matthew (2G), Mitch Marner (1G, 2A) and William Nylander (1G, 1A) all getting on the scoreboard and Jack Campbell (26 SV) recording the shoutout – see highlights here
