Happy Humpday, Blitzers! The city of Milwaukee is not reading today’s letter as they are still celebrating their first NBA championship in 50 years after winning a thrilling Game 6 win over the Suns thanks to a heroic performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Another star in Wisconsin seems a bit less happy, as news broke that Aaron Rodgers declined an extension from the Packers that would have made him the highest-paid player in the NFL. On top of other NFL news, we talk about Gold Cup soccer action, the U.S. women’s soccer squad starts their Olympic journey, MLB highlights and preview the Seattle Kraken’s expansion draft in the NHL. Let’s get to it!

Game 6: Milwaukee Bucks 105, Phoenix Suns 98 (MIL wins series 4-2)
Giannis Antetokounmpo (50 PTS, 14 REB, 5 BLK) and the Milwaukee Bucks top Devin Booker (19 PTS, 0-7 3PT, 6 TO) and the Phoenix Suns to win their first NBA Championship since 1971 on the back of The Greek Freak and his 50-point, 14-rebound double-double – first player with 20 points in a quarter of a Finals since Michael Jordan over 20 years ago; 7th player with 50 points in a Finals game
After struggling – sometimes hilariously – throughout the playoffs from the charity stripe, the two-time MVP, Giannis, went 17-for-19 from the free throw line in the series’ clincher – talk about greatness…
The Bucks become only the fifth team in NBA history to comeback from down 2-0 to win the Finals and only the third to rattle off four-straight wins to do so in six games – the ’06 Heat were the last team to win the Finals in six games after falling behind 2-0
With the loss, Chris Paul (26 PTS, 5 AST) becomes the first player in NBA history to loss four best-of-7 series after leading 2-0 – he is now 2-16 against referee Scott Foster, is the NBA rigged???
Finals MVP: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis averaged 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5 assists per game with three 40-point games in the series
His Finals performance was undoubtedly highlighted by this block in Game 4 and this alley-oop finish to punctuate the win in Game 5
At only the age of 26, Giannis Antetokounmpo is not only a 5x All-Star, 5x All-NBA, a DPOY, a MIP, and a back-to-back MVP, but now he’s also an NBA Champ and a Finals MVP
He joins Hakeem Olajuwon and “his Airness,” Michael Jordan, as only the third player in league history to win MVP, DPOY, and Finals MVP – not even King James makes that list…
With the win, the Antetokounmpo brothers are the first sibling trio in NBA history to all win a ring – off somewhere LaVar Ball is salty saying “if only”
He is the 5th international player to win the Finals MVP – Dirk Nowitzki (2011), Tony Parker (2007), Tim Duncan (1999, 2003, 2005) and Hakeem Olajuwon (1994-95)
